Youtube – a vast raucous video flea market of sorts. Indeetv – a small clean, quiet art school screening room. Are art school film rooms clean and quiet? I don’t know – I haven’t been yet. Some of the films on indeetv are linked from youtube, but indeetv has the quieter viewing space. You can even dim the virtual lights as you watch just like in a real screening room. Don’t get me wrong, I like youtube. I like it too much. I can go there to watch one thing and then just lose track of time. My fave youtube viewing – Jackson footage, interviews, etc., r&b history, makeup tutorials, hair styling tutorials. Indeetv – just found it linked to my future art school, but already have enjoyed some beautiful short romance films like “A Thousand Words” and funny like Sup. Sup is very Monty Pythonesque. I’ve always been a big fan of indie film, and I’m very much about new media. This indeetv seems like a virtual chill room. A place where I can come clear my head after grueling paper rewrites. I think I’m going to enjoy it.
