About

This is a blog about control …. Just kidding and I can be a lot more original than that. This blog will include cultural commentary, opinion, random thoughts, biographical snibbits, and reviews of books, movies and other media by an African American woman Master’s level student of English. I like pop music and my first musical love was the Jacksons. My favorite was Michael but I like the rest of the Jackson brothers, and I like Janet’s work too. I watch more reality tv than I admit to most people. I like movies that tell a good story. I read a lot especially fiction and biography. Special preference for African, African American, Carribbean, South American or Indian writers … but bottom line, I’ll read and savor the work of anyone anywhere who knows how to tell a good tale. I like to read about the lives of interesting people. One day I hope to write and publish a biography or two. I make jewelry, fashion accessories, and cosmetics. And you will probably read about all of this stuff here at some time or another.

To begin with I expect to write quite a bit about the life and death of Michael Jackson because I was a fan for 35 years. The music and dance of Michael and his brothers had a big impact on me in my formative years, and therefore I have a lot of thoughts on that matter. Eventually I will move the MJ posts to a separate page as the blog grows. All in all though, my intent is that this should be a stylish and informative blog that’s a good read. I’m just getting started, but I have big plans and this blog will grow. So watch this space.
